"Growing up I would always love to watch my dad draw. He’s the one who really inspired me to draw in the first place. In my own way I would always try to be 'better' than him. But not knowing it then, every artist has a different way of expressing their talent. These talents can be expressed in many different ways. For me it’s always been through drawing. Drawing is the foundation which made the other medias seem possible. 'Falling' was an amazing piece to create. Fall was my inspiration because of the leaves. Knowing that I was drawn to the darker shades made me want to express that through the piece. This is my favorite yet." - Alyssa Sotelo
