Mobile Bidding is a great way to place bids and follow our A is for Art silent auction!  Using your smartphone, you can place bids, view all the auction items in the silent auction, receive notifications if you have been outbid on your items and make sure you have every opportunity to take home the art you have your eye on!  With these simple steps, you will be ready for the A is for Art silent auction!

FOR THE EVENT

1. REGISTER YOUR SMARTPHONE
   • You can register your smartphone online in advance of A is for Art, when you arrive at the event, or at any point during the silent auction.
   • To register online before A is for Art, email Lawren McConnell at Lawren.McConnell@aps.edu.
   • Upon arrival to A is for Art, you’ll be asked at registration if you’d like to register your smartphone for online bidding, and will be assisted through the process.
   • If you haven’t registered your smartphone but would like to at any point during the silent auction, simply ask one of our Bid Agents to assist you.  They will be wearing bright red lanyards.
   • Once your smartphone is registered, you’ll receive an automated welcome text message containing your bidder URL within one minute.  If you don’t receive a text message, request assistance from our registration volunteers or Bid Agents.
      
2. USE YOUR SMARTPHONE TO FIND SILENT AUCTION ITEMS
   • Click on the link in your automated text message.  This link also contains your bidder number.  Once you’re logged in, the bidder number will display on your home screen.
   • When prompted, confirm your name.  If the name displayed isn’t correct, see a Bid Agent or registration volunteer.
   • Search for silent auction items by number, keyword or category – or find items with no bids by selecting “No Bid Packages.”
      
3. START BIDDING!
   • Select “Details/Bid” to bid on an item.
   • You can bid the next increment, set a maximum bid or simply choose to “Watch” silent auction items.  If you enter your highest maximum bid on an item, the system will automatically place bids in your favor until that amount is reached or until the auction closes.  If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that item, you’ll be prompted to enter a higher bid.
   • If you’re outbid at any point before the silent auction closes, you’ll be notified by text message.
   • You can keep an eye on packages you’ve bid on or are watching by going to “My Bids” via the blue button located at the right of your home area.
   • As soon as the silent auction closes, the guest with the highest bid will win.
      
4. PURCHASE AN ITEM AT THE “BUY NOW” PRICE
   • Click on the “Buy Now” button located in the upper right-hand corner of the item’s detail page.  Do not enter the “Buy Now” price in the field for max bid.
            
5. MAKE A GENERAL DONATION TO THE APS EDUCATION FOUNDATION
   • Click on the “Donate” button on your home screen and choose a pre-set amount, or enter the amount you wish to donate and click “Submit.”
            
6. NO SMARTPHONE?  NO PROBLEM!  USE ONE OF OUR BID AGENTS TO ASSIST YOU!
   • Simply find one of our Bid Agents in the silent auction area.
   • Give the Bid Assistant your bidder number and confirm your name on their screen is correct.
   • Provide the Bid Agent with the number or name of the item you wish to bid on, and tell him/her how much you’d like to bid.
      
7. AFTER THE SILENT AUCTION CLOSES
   • Check to see which items you’ve won under “My Bids.”
   • If you’re attending the dinner and live auction, your silent auction items will be available for pickup at Item Pickup when you check out.  If you are bidding remotely, we will contact you to arrange a delivery/pickup plan for your items.
   • Check out our charging stations, called “Juice Bars” located with our Bid Agents in the silent auction area so you can charge your phone if needed.

   REMOTE MOBILE BIDDING

   For the first time this year, we are extending the invitation to all art lovers to take home a piece of student art, even if they cannot attend the event!

   • Visit our website and preview the silent auction, by visiting www.apseducationfoundation.org and clicking on our A is for Art banner!  Click on “Auction Preview” at the top of the page to get a preview of the silent auction pieces.
   • Click on “Buy Tickets” at the top of the page.  Choose “Bid Number Only” and enter “1” in the Quantity field.  Check the box next to “I authorize APS Education Foundation to use the credit card entered on the submission page at event A is for Art.”  Click Next.
   • Enter in your contact information.  (Group Name and Meal Choice are not necessary.)  Enter your preferred credit or debit card information.  Your card will only be charged for purchases made (your winning bid items) or any cash donations you make during the event using your phone.
   • On November 7^th, you will receive an automated text message so you can join the auction on your phone!
   • We will contact you to arrange a delivery/pickup plan for your items.
